I really enjoy reading travel adventure stories and this one sounded great.I was somewhat disappointed though.
The author is an experienced writer and that seems to be the common complaint I have.
Not a fault of the book, or the story, it is my preference to read about real adventures by the riders who generally are not great writers but do have interesting stories to tell.
I found that this book, like a few others, is more about arranging sponsors to pay for the trip and arranging to sell the story in advance. So there is the usual hotel complaints, the problems with the back up support vehicle, and so on.
My preference is to read about the average Joe or Joeline who travels by motorcycle without anyone else paying their way, who camp and stay with the locals, who tell the simple story of what they experienced. Books like "Lois on the Loose" and "Red Tape and White Knuckles" by Lois Pryce.
Other readers will no doubt prefer this book and the skill of the wordsmith writing it.
That is great.
I for one just gave it an OK rating.
